Tourism Industry

South Padre Island’s primary industry is tourism and recreation related support businesses. Due to the growth on the Island, the tourism industry is continuing to thrive. As a result of hosting an estimated 5 million annual visitors, the Island is successfully supporting three full service hotels, over 60 restaurants, a wide variety of entertainment options and a diverse group of retail shops.
